Rachel Joy Echiverri Rowland

Rachel Joy Echiverri Rowland is the project manager for internships and fellowships in Academic Engagement and Research at the Art Institute of Chicago. In her role, Rachel helps students in their academic and professional pursuits by fostering a supportive space for research, conversation, and mentorship. She has worked at the museum since 2014, where she previously provided administrative support and later served as communications coordinator for Learning and Public Engagement. Beyond her work with interns and fellows, Rachel s involved in the museum’s equity and community efforts through the museum’s Narratives and Content Equity Working Group and the A/AAPI Collective. 

Prior to her time at the Art Institute, Rachel was an archaeologist field technician for the Illinois State Archaeological Survey and a therapy coordinator for several Filipino-owned home healthcare businesses. She holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology with a concentration in archaeology from Loyola University Chicago.
