Join Andrew Hamilton, associate curator of Arts of the Americas, as he discusses the role of lines in Nazca art, from strikingly large geoglyphs to distinctive ceramics. Occasioned by the recent discovery of a new Nazca Line geoglyph and richly illustrated with works from the Art Institute’s permanent collection, this talk will explore the graphic style that Nazca artists developed over the first half of the first millennium CE in what is now the south coast of Peru.

We recommend using a laptop or desktop computer, and downloading the latest version of Zoom to enjoy this program.
