Visitors of all ages are invited to stop by the museum’s Ryan Learning Center and choose from a variety of activities: create an art project, explore the Multisensory Gallery, make a custom museum tour with JourneyMaker, and more.
From December 8, 2022 through February 28, 2023, the art activity will be Stitching Meaning: Story Cloths. Visitors are provided with materials and guidance to design a personal symbol and inscribe it onto a piece of embroidered cloth or add to a collaborative indigo-inspired Ndop cloth influenced by the exhibition The Language of Beauty in African Art and by the work of Chicago artist Alexandria Eregbu.

Studio projects in the Art Exchange have been designed with social distancing in mind. Parties of visitors will be physically separated from each other, and each party will work with a separate set of supplies.
The space will close for 15 minutes periodically to refresh art materials and maintain cleanliness.
